Sustainability
FUJIFILM Integrated Inkjet Systems believes that positive involvement in environmental stewardship is an essential part of our social role and activities. We develop and provide socially beneficial products and services of the highest quality using advanced and original technologies in a safe and responsible manner.
Our Samba-based print system products are designed with sustainability in mind. The printbars and their fluid systems are engineered for use with inks that are mineral oil-free and low migration, both of which promote material recycling.
We act voluntarily and proactively to help solve various environmental challenges, such as:
- Addressing climate change
- Conserving biodiversity
- Establishing a circular economy
- Ensuring chemical safety
To help address these issues, we’re encouraging our employees to take these steps:
Repurpose leftovers: According to the USDA, between 30 and 40 percent of food is wasted. Use of leftovers saves money and energy.
Go meatless for a day: Meat production, particularly red meat, requires large volumes of water, which ultimately contributes to growing global water constraints.
Conserve water: Shower for slightly less time and don’t leave the water running while you brush your teeth.
Sustainability guidelines
Environmental sustainability is one of the six areas we have focused on since FUJIFILM created its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan in 2017. This plan embodies our goals going forward to 2030, in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) promoted by the United Nations.

How to Build Sustainability Into Your Printing Process
Inkjet Insight’s recent article discusses how Fujifilm Integrated Inkjet Solutions’ approach to inkjet printing supports sustainability efforts.
“We know that there are tons of boxes, packages, and marketing collateral that are printed and sent for recycling without ever being used…Using print modules in concert with manufacturing processes, we can reduce a large amount of that waste by changing the way it’s manufactured,” said Steve Atherton, Senior Manager of Product Management and Marketing for FIIS.
